A Cry Still Unheard
A work in progress.
A Cry Still Unheard is an ongoing artistic exploration of femininity, power, and the erasure of women’s voices. Rooted in Indian cultural narratives, it reflects on the decline of matrilineal reverence and rise of gender-biased practices. The project embraces silence; what’s unspoken, unseen, and endured by interweaving photography, cyanotype, embroidery, and text. It draws from oral histories and data to build a visual-poetic language around trauma and memory. Structured in three parts, it includes text-image installations, interactive portraits, and reimagined icons of feminine power. Though personal and culturally specific, the work speaks universally to loss, control, and the silent endurance of women across generations.
