As I stood alone

Limited Edition of 3 + 1 AP

“As I Stood Alone” is less a photograph and more a memory unravelled—delicate, imprecise, and infinite in its unfolding. The Sydney Opera House, so instantly recognisable in its sharp white sails, becomes something altogether different here: a ghost of itself, multiplying in layers like the echo of a thought you can’t quite place. Black and white softens its edges, turning steel and concrete into something dreamlike, something remembered rather than seen.

This work doesn’t just depict a building—it captures the moment when familiarity begins to slip, when landmarks become emotionmarks. When you stand before something grand, alone, and realise that you are both part of it and completely outside it. The layering of images—meticulously aligned, then let loose—mirrors the way we return to certain places in our minds, over and over, each time slightly changed.

There is no single perspective here. No fixed truth. Only the feeling of standing still while the world moves gently around you.

Printed on canvas with museum-grade archival ink, this is a limited edition piece. The digital layering process was destroyed after finalisation, making this work as unrepeatable as the moment it captures.
