India

There are plenty of reasons to visit India – be it mountains or plains, beaches or backwaters, wildlife or adventure, secluded islands or bustling metropolitan, culinary delights or local drinks, spiritual holidays or romantic vacations. India has it all.

Language: Many people think that Hindi is the official language of India, but it is not. Hindi is widely spoken in the Northern part of India.

Currency: Indian Rupees

Safety: In general it is safe to travel in India. But unfortunately same is not the case with the capital city New Delhi. In spite of being an Indian, I would take all sorts of safety measures if I were in New Delhi. Other than that one has to use the traveller's common sense.

My Experience: India is a fantastic country, I am proud of its heritage. AS a Non-Resident Indian (lived outside India for more than 18 years) I have bittersweet stories to share. However, as a traveller, I absolutely love it and can never get enough. Travelling around the country to learn about Indian culture, languages, food and festivals is not just fascinating but it is immensely rewarding. It is rich in history and is in innovation. A land of extreme contrasts in every manner. If you have not been to India then, it's a MUST.
