The Weight of Blue: Colour as Control, Patriarchy, and Resistance in My Work
This article explains the thought process and reasons behind the choices I made in my work A Cry Still Unheard. I examine how blue shapes power and gender roles through photography and mixed media. I build upon blue’s deep history to reveal hidden patriarchal systems, while red threads speak of violence and resistance. This work reclaims colour as a way to question silence, erasure, and inherited trauma.
